International honours for Penarth footballer

A PENARTH footballer has been awarded his Under-18s Welsh cap.
Andrew Hughes, of St Cyres Road, a former pupil of St Joseph's and Stanwell schools, won his U18s schoolboy cap last Friday, playing for Wales against England at Llanelli FC football ground.
He was awarded man of the match for a great display in a 0-0 draw.
The Welsh team travel to Scotland today (Thursday) to play the Scottish U18s at Airdrie, then it's the Republic of Ireland followed by Northern Ireland in Belfast.
Andrew is currently a 2nd year student at Hartridge College, Newport. He has also appeared for the successful Newport County football team.
