11:00am Thursday 2nd September 2010
POLICE are appealing for help in tracing valuable items of rugby memorabilia, which were stolen during a burglary at a Penarth house.
Items taken in the raid on the Bradenham Place property include a Wales v Argentina 2006 test shirt and a Cardiff Blues rugby jersey – both with ‘Phillips 9’ on the back; and a rugby ball signed by the 2005 Wales Six Nations Grand Slam-winning squad.
Also stolen in the burglary, which took place overnight between 10.45pm on Saturday, August 21, and 8.30am the following morning, were ticket stubs for the British Lions 2009 tests in South Africa.
Detective Constable Emma Adams, of Barry CID, said: “The items stolen are very distinctive and we are appealing for any information that could lead to their return.”
Anyone with information which could help in recovering the stolen items is asked to contact DC Emma Adams at Barry CID on 01446 731606 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the burglary, and released on bail.
