Penarth youngsters find a tasty way to raise money for Oxfam
12:20pm Tuesday 7th February 2012

TWO Penarth school girls have found the recipe for fundraising success!
Niamh Bannister, aged 10, and eight-year-old Flora Tassinari raised more than £150 for Oxfam on Sunday by baking and selling cakes and biscuits to family, friends and neighbours at Niamh's Clive Place home.
The Albert Primary School pupils created all of the tasty treats, after researching recipes and working hard in the kitchen in the run-up to the sale.
"The girls came up with the whole idea themselves," said Niamh's mum, Kate.
"They decided what they wanted to bake, when the sale would be, they chose the charity and made the leaflets and posters.
"They made sure they made some gluten free cakes, and also some egg free ones for people with allergies. There were some with pink icing, and some were even quite healthy!"
Niamh and Flora want to thank everyone who went along to the sale, and who gave so generously.
"It was a real community afternoon," added Kate.
Money is still coming in but, including a generious donation from Smile Studio, the total stands at more than £150 for Oxfam.
Flora's mum, Sabina, added: "We're very proud of them both!"
